strat, I completely get what you are saying now. You are right, it is not diatonic.. My father brought up the example of jerry playing diatonically, ironically when I was playing eyes of the world. Jerry does play very chromatically, i love it too =)

Since you're just getting into the JGB stuff, pay particular attention to his rhythm chops....a real master at work. Something he's rarely noted for and mostly overlooked by many.
